President John F. Kennedy once famously said, "A rising tide lifts all boats."
When the "great recession" of the early 21st century caused many charitable organizations to suffer a reduction in donations, Bank of Bolivar created BOB's Gift Club as a way to help these groups - realizing that the bank and all community partners benefit from helping one another.
Here's how BOB's Gift Club works: each summer, Bank of Bolivar considers charitable organizations to include on our list of partners for that year's Gift Club. Then, in November and December, Bank of Bolivar allows each customer who opens a new account to pick up a small gift for themselves while also picking one of our pre-selected charity partners to receive a $20 gift from Bank of Bolivar. Although there is a limit of one donation per person, there is no limit to the total amount of donations an organization may receive each year.
Since 2010, BOB has donated over $30,000 to various recipients such as Citizens Memorial Healthcare Hospice, the YMCA, Shop With a Cop, Heart 2 Heart Outreach Ministries, The Kitchen, Ozarks Food Harvest, Convoy of Hope, Polk County House of Hope, the American Cancer Society, the American Diabetes Association, Alternative Opportunities, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, the Foundation for Fair Grove Public Schools, the Foundation for Springfield Public Schools, Lost and Found Grief Center, Community Outreach Ministries, the Fair Grove Senior Center fund, Hope Foundation, CrossLines/Council of Churches of the Ozarks, Ambassadors for Children, CMH Music and Memory Program, the Polk County Humane Society, and Segs4Vets.
So come into your favorite Bank of Bolivar branch this November or December to "Open a Gift" for both you and a worthy cause. Working hand-in-hand with our customers, BOB's goal is to lift all boats in our local area - especially those whose mission is serving others.
